When choosing the best cutting board for your customer, also research the best ways they can protect their cutting board. Nothing is more important than preparing hardwood for everyday use.
If you're not familiar with circuit board maintenance, you should know that oils help absorb water and protect them from tool use. In addition, the oil will prevent your circuit board from oxidizing, which can eventually make your circuit board sticky and smelly.
Mineral oil
Mineral oil, also known as liquid paraffin, is an excellent cutting board conditioner. Mainly because it's a non-drying oil that won't make your circuit board feel like plastic. For maximum protection, this is the oil for you.
Note: If you want to meet food standards, be sure to use food safe mineral oils.
beeswax
Beeswax is considered a dry oil that creates a beautiful sheen on your wood cutting board, helping to keep it waterproof and easy to clean. Beeswax helps prevent odors and changes in the taste of food.
If you mix beeswax with mineral oil, you can better protect your boards and create a more waterproof finish.
Linseed oil
Linseed oil is another option for the protection of different varieties, including woodwork items. If the carpenter wants to make sure that the large block is well protected, he will usually boil the linseed oil.
Note: Boiling oil is not the best choice for kitchen-designed cutting boards. Using unboiled, food safe linseed oil is definitely better for your hardwood cutting board.
Coconut oil
Even if coconut oil is used more for other purposes, you'll be surprised to learn that it can also be used to create a protective layer on your board. This type of oil keeps it in good cooking condition while preventing use.
Note: When using on cutting boards, be sure to purchase a non-GMO certified product that does not contain any harmful additives or dyes.
